AuctionPrime Help

Getting Started

When you first run AuctionPrime, you'll notice an "Auctions" menu at the top of your screen. For the eBay only version, and the Trial Version, eBay will be the only auction available on this list. With the full version, you'll see a complete list of the auctions we support in AuctionPrime.

Note: AuctionPrime is best used in 800x600 screen resolution or higher. To change your screen resolution, right click your windows desktop, then select Properties from the popup menu. The "Display Properties" dialog will appear. Click on the "Settings" tab. There you'll see options to change your screen resolution.

Step One: under the File Menu, click Auction Setup.
This will show you a grid with the available auctions. Just enter your User ID and Password for each applicable auction, and then close the screen

This is needed for two reasons. One, when AuctionPrime checks items for you, it needs to know your User ID to determine if you currently hold the high bid. Two, if you use AuctionPrime's AutoBid feature, the program will need this information in order to place a bid for you.

Step Two: under the File Menu, click Edit Categories.
You'll now see a grid where you can enter Categories of Items you like to shop for with online auctions. Some samples are provided. You can move to a new line and add your own category. Then add a few keywords that are likely to be unique to that category. When you save an Auction Item into AuctionPrime's database, it will search through the item's description, looking for these keywords, and will then select a category based on them. Make sure to enter your most important keywords early in the list. AuctionPrime uses a weighted system when selecting a Category for each Auction Item it saves (or as we call it, Remembers), and keywords that appear first in your list are given higher 'scores' than keywords at the end of the list.

Step Three: under the Auctions Menu, click on eBay.
eBay's home page will be displayed in an Auction Browser Screen. Find an item that interestes you. Once an actual item page is being displayed on the Auction Browser Screen, you'll see that a button labeled "Remember" appears on the toolbar. Click the "Remember" button, and this item will be added to AuctionPrime's database. It's that easy!

Step Four: under the Windows Menu, click on Items of Interest.
(or if you have closed the "Items of Interest" screen, look in the File Menu, then click on Items of Interest)
You'll see the item you "Remembered" in Step Three listed in the grid. Click the "Item Detail" tab (or click the icon beside the item name in the list), and you'll see all of the detailed information AuctionPrime saved about this item. To view the list again, click the "Item List" tab.

For basic usage, that's all there is to it. You'll use AuctionPrime as your browser whenever you look at auctions, so that you can save the items in AuctionPrime's database. If you use an external browser to view auction sites, AuctionPrime will not be able to save or act on information for you.
