It happens to me a lot: I look for an item for a while, then
forget about it for a while, then look for it again, then
forget about it for a while ...
There's no telling how many auctions may have been run for
that item, at my price, while I wasn't watching.
So I added "Missions" to AuctionPrime.
"Missions" gives
you a place to remember the things you are interested in,
so you can easily keep searching for them,
and keep track of pending auctions for them.
Just as important, you can keep track of whether you've already
bought one! As I write this, that happened to me just a few
minutes ago!
To enter a new Mission:
1. Select "Missions" from the "File" menu of most AuctionPrime
windows.
2. On the bottom (empty) line of the Missions list, start
entering the information for your new Mission. Give it a name,
make a note of how much you'd like to pay for the item(s),
and how many you want to buy. If there is a dealine for buying
the item (for example a birthday present), there's a place
to make a note of it.
3. If you've already saved a search for this item, the Search
column will drop down a list of your saved searches, so that
you can link the saved search to the mission.
4. By using the "One of" group column, you can link your missions
to auctions that you have "Remembered". See the "One Of Groups"
section for more details.
Option buttons:
The option buttons below the Mission list let you tell
the list to display All Missions, Completed Missions, or Pending
Missions.
Save button:
Records changes made to the current line on the Mission
list.
Delete button
Deletes the currently selected Mission.
Show Current Group button
If you have Remembered auctions that have the same 'One
of' group name as is saved for the selected Mission, this
button will show a view of just those items in your 'Items
of Interest' window, and switch to that window for you.
Show Current Search button
If you have linked a 'Saved Search' to your selected Mission,
clicking this button will launch it.
Mission Fulfillment:
You can use the "Wanted" column to indicate that you'd like
to buy more than one item for a Mission. As items are AutoBid
on (or if you manually bid on an item and then 'Remember'
it after its bought), AuctionPrime will add to the Bought
column as items for the mission are bought. (Auctions must
have a 'One of' group assigned that matches the 'One of' group
assigned to the Mission for this to work.)
See the "One Of Groups" section for more details.
When the Bought column equals the Wanted column, AuctionPrime
will mark the mission as "Done".
